We use a fundaĀmenĀtally different battery modeling approach that combines speed and preciĀsion. It is based on the fundaĀmental idea of virtuĀally reproĀducing all relevant processes inside the battery. This is quite compliĀcated: physical, chemical and thermoĀdyĀnamic processes are coupled in complex ways, depending on operating conditions and age. EveryĀthing happens simulĀtaĀneĀously and runs on different length and time scales: from electrode partiĀcles just a few micromĀeĀters in size, up to processes in the centimeter range of cells and the meter range of packs. Some processes take just millisecĀonds, others need months.
